  • Campus Climate Clash – October 2026

    UM is competing in the 2026 GetGreen Campus Climate Clash — join in!

    The Campus Climate Clash is a free, month-long, multi-university sustainability competition that brings North American campuses head-to-head to see who can earn the most leaves. Universities with a combined enrollment of more than 250,000 students compete to reduce waste, energy use, and emissions, one action at a time.

    How it works:

    • When: October 5–31, during Campus Sustainability Month.
    • Who: Open to all UM students, staff, and faculty.
    • How to join: Download the Get Green App, register with your @miami.edu email, and scan the UM campus QR code to join our team.
    • Compete: Complete eco-actions to earn Green Leaves, help UM climb the regional and national leaderboards, and put the U on the map for climate action.
    • How to win: The Clash includes a Grand Prize at the challenge level, plus local UM prizes for our top campus earners.


    Campus Climate Clash Prizes:

    • 50 leaves: App users who reach 50 leaves will automatically be eligible for a Coca-Cola wheatgrass utensil set & a Coca-Cola lunch box made from recycled materials!
    • 200 leaves: After reaching 200 leaves, app users are entered into a raffle for a Coca-Cola Bicycle!

    The Get Green App puts sustainability in your pocket. Powered by GetGreen, a mobile platform built to turn everyday choices into measurable climate action, the app helps you build planet-friendly habits that fit your routine and shows you the impact you're making along the way. The University of Miami has partnered with GetGreen since 2024 to make campus sustainability something you can act on every day, not just think about.

    Every action you complete earns "leaves" — and each leaf represents roughly 10 pounds of CO₂ kept out of the atmosphere. Collect leaves, track your progress, climb the campus leaderboard, and compete for prizes, all from one simple app. For the U, GetGreen is the tool that bridges the gap between knowing what's sustainable and doing it, consistently, together.

    How to get started

    1. Download the Get Green App from the App Store or Google Play.
    2. Register with your University of Miami (@miami.edu) email.
    3. Join the University of Miami community using our campus QR code (below).
    4. Start earning leaves by completing actions that fit your day and by completing daily trivia!

     

    • 50 leaves: An eco-friendly lunch box, including reusable Harvest Straw Cutlery Set.

    • 200 leaves: Raffle for a Coke Zero Portable Hammock
